How do I run with RunGo?

If you are running without a route – a Free Run – just press Start and go.

If you are running with a route, open the route in the app (iPhone, Android, or Apple Watch), and press the correct start mode:

  1. When on the course: “Start” on iPhone, or "Run This" or "Run" on Android

  2. When running outdoors from anywhere else: "Virtual" or "Virtual Mode Outdoor"

  3. When running on a treadmill or even on the spot: "Indoor" or "Virtual Mode Treadmill" (note, your phone must be on you – in a pocket, armband, or hand – to track steps)

You can now lock your phone screen. If your device is set up properly, you will continue to hear all the audio messages and be guided along the route. Make sure your volume is set correctly and that you can hear your device or are wearing earbuds.

If you are ever in doubt about the route navigation, the map in the app is available. On iPhone, you may also use Augmented Reality (AR) mode to see the blue line of the route superimposed on the image through your phone’s camera.

What do I do if I’m participating in a race that’s using RunGo?

However, our web route creator is the most powerful experience, at routes.rungoapp.com. Here are some tutorial videos which may help: rungoapp.com/tutorial-videos.

Thank you! Please consider giving us a review in the App Store or Play Store, creating run share images and sharing them, and telling your friends and running groups about RunGo!

What information does RunGo collect, and what does it share with 3rd parties?

RunGo only collects the information you specifically input, such as email address, user handle, etc. Your tracked runs are stored securely, and they are all private by default.

RunGo proudly offers an ad-free experience, so there are no 3rd parties who access and share any of your private information.

How do I find a route on the app that I made or found on the web?

On Android, search for the route by typing in whole words in the route’s name.

On iPhone, go to “find routes” then “my routes”. You should see your routes there - just make sure you are logged in.

If you created the routes on the website, you can send the route link to your phone and open the route using the “View in RunGo App” button.

On Apple Watch, you can search for routes right on your watch, or you may find it in the iPhone app and tap on the Apple Watch icon on the route page to send it to your watch. It may take 3-20 seconds for it to appear.

If you still can’t find your routes in the app, please make sure you’re logged in to the correct account using the matching login type (email + password, Apple, Facebook). Some users end up with multiple account types. You may want to log out and log in again.

No routes are deleted unless the route owners does that themselves.

Why am I being told to upgrade to Premium when I already have Premium?

Please double check at https://routes.rungoapp.com/user that your account is Premium and that you’re logged in with the correct account. You may want to log out and back in to make sure everything is refreshed.

Why isn’t the audio working?

Please check the following:

  • Audio works via speakers, without headphones

  • Close other apps that could be taking over the sounds. We support mixing sounds from other apps, some apps (such as games) will block sounds from other apps.

  • Check volume level on phone and in RunGo settings

  • Check that the volume is on for the phone, Apple Watch, or the paired device in the RunGo settings

Why doesn’t the audio work on Android?

RunGo uses the standard Google Text to Speech (TTS). On some Android devices, this may not be turned on. To view settings for speech synthesis, on your device, open Settings > Language and input > Speech > Text to speech output > Google text to speech engine.

When pressing Start, RunGo should always say something.

Other things that can affect voice feedback are:

  • Volume Level

  • Other non-standard apps taking over audio system (some 3rd party podcasting apps)

  • Audio coming from a different bluetooth device

If you get voice stats only this could be because

  • You are running without a Route, (use start button next to route)

  • You started to far away from the route start (sometimes this can cause problems)

  • You are off route, or running the wrong direction on the route

Can I use RunGo route on my Garmin or other running/cycling/GPS watch?

Yes, however these devices do not support the voice navigation, custom messages, or pre-recorded messages.

To do so, export the route as GPX from the web route:

Screen Shot 2021-07-14 at 9.35.37 PM.png

Then import into your watch or watch’s smartphone app. For Garmin, follow these directions: Uploading a Third-Party Course into Garmin Connect.

How do I create a RunGo group for my routes? What are groups used for?

Create a new group – it’s free – at routes.rungoapp.com/groups/new

Our pages are all responsive, so they adapt to mobile or any web screen size.

However, the recommended sizes are:

  • Logo: 300x300px square with non-transparent background. Any square file will resize properly.

  • Banner: 1366px wide x 250px tall. On web, that is a wide, landscape shape image. Ideally have good content in the middle, as on mobile screens, it will focus on that area. It is best not to have text or critical data on the banner, as it may get cropped on some screens.

Here's a good example: routes.rungoapp.com/group/mile2marathon/routes

How do I permanently delete my RunGo account and all of my content?

The easiest and most secure way to delete your RunGo account and all of its content is to visit routes.rungoapp.com/user and click “Delete Account.”

My account auto-renewed unexpectedly for RunGo Premium. Can I request a refund?

Yes. Please cancel your RunGo Premium (see above how to do that securely and quickly). If you request a refund within 7 days or so of the Premium renewal, we will refund your purchase. For a refund, please fill out the contact form above, or via Contact Us in the app, making sure to mention the unexpected renewal.
