Service Outage Update

Dear RunGo community,

We want to address the recent service outage that occurred late on Friday January 31 2025 and affected our web and app platforms. We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience and frustration this may have caused. Your experience is our top priority, and we deeply regret any disruptions to your activities.

What Happened: The outage was due to unexpected database issues that impacted the performance of our services. As soon as we identified the problem, our engineering team sprang into action to diagnose and address the root cause.

There was no data loss or security breach.

Over the weekend, our team pulled off what we would describe as an ultra marathon, working around the clock, to restore core functionalities.

This includes Craig, our co-founder, back just one week from HURT100 (Hawaiian Ultra Running Team's Trail 100-Mile Endurance Run), who was born for this.

Most of our services are now back online.

We have not had more than a few minutes offline for more than two years, and we intend to get back to that level of uptime after this is resolved.

What’s Still Affected: There are still a few outstanding items we’re actively working on:

  • When logging into your RunGo account on the web and/or in app, you may see an error message, such as "user does not exist.” If you ignore this message, everything should run as expected. Login with Facebook and Apple are functional. [Fixed. Please make sure you have latest app update.]

  • Password reset does not work at this time. [Fixed]

  • New accounts cannot set new user handles at the moment. [Fixed]

  • You cannot add routes to groups. [Fixed]

  • Our Strava integration is offline and will be connected again shortly. [Fixed]

  • Some GPX upload features are limited. [GPX upload fixed]

We will continue to update this page until all of these and any other outstanding items are resolved.

We understand how important these features are to you and are giving them our full attention.

Thank you for your patience. We are incredibly grateful for your understanding during this time.

If you experience any lingering issues or have concerns, please don’t hesitate to reach out to us at support@rungoapp.com.

Sincerely,

RunGo team
